Open Day

On Tuesday, 8 August, Flamingo School hosted its very first Open Day. Parents enjoyed a cup of coffee while having a look at the school’s future plans and our stunning mural, which showcases the various activities that students participate in at Flamingo School. Mrs. Christine Vorster delivered a presentation, informing visitors about our school’s vision and mission.

The Pom-Poms and the senior choir ensured that everyone was entertained during the school tour, led by Mrs. Natasja Dreyer. Visitors had the opportunity to peek into classrooms, view project tables, and admire art murals from every phase of the school. The tour concluded at the Grade R classes, where all visitors were treated to party packs of popcorn and a guided tour of the Grade R classrooms by Ms. Annalie Germishuizen.
A special thanks goes to MediaMarket for providing the selfie-frame and the welcome board, which added to the grandeur of our special day. Application forms for the year 2024 are now available at the school office.

Annual Carnival

On Saturday, the 2nd of September, we held our annual Carnival. We started the day off with visitors enjoying a cup of coffee at the Coffee Shop and the smell of hot dogs on the grill. The teachers made sure that everyone was entertained with games, and the obstacle course surely got the blood pumping. Learners were also given the opportunity to soak their teachers using water guns, and this was great fun! The school’s grade 6 and 7 soccer team played against their fathers and won 5-1. The grade 6 and 7 netball girls also played against their moms. To close off the day, the mothers took on the teachers in a netball match. In both matches, the mothers were victorious. All throughout the day, there was laughter and cheers, and the day was enjoyed by all who attended.
